How to Add an Image in Photoshop

There are several ways to add an image to a project in Photoshop, and in this post, I’ll show a couple of options.

Adding an image to Photoshop is a simple process and one that you need to know to edit photos or create photo manipulations.

Adding an Image to Photoshop Using Drag and Drop

The quickest way to add an image to Photoshop is by using drag and drop.

Select Layer from background in Photoshop

Open Photoshop and, using the drag–and–drop method, drag an image to Photoshop from Explorer or from your desktop. It will automatically create a new document with a Background layer that will be locked.

If you want to edit the layer, you can Right-click the layer and select Layer from Background. You can give a new name to this layer and afterward click OK. The layer will stop being locked, and you can start editing it.
